Performance Action Parts High-tech composites and innovative design are why WNG parts outperform their competitors. Wessell, Nickel & Gross
At the 1893 World's Fair in
Chicago, judges awarded the
Wessell, Nickel, & Gross piano
action a gold medal, citing it for "high
artistic achievement" and "innovation."
Today this storied name is again being applied to a unique new composite action that its designers contend will dramatically improve piano performance. The new Wessell, Nickel, & Gross action is being produced by PianoDisc, makers of digital reproducing systems, and its sister company, Mason & Hamlin.Production is currently limited, but based on rave reviews from piano technicians, that should change shortly. PianoDisc co-founder Kirk Burgett is an inveterate tinkerer who has spent the bulk of his career looking for solutions to thorny mechanical problems.Much of this restless energy has been directed towards continuously refining the PianoDisc reproducing system. Burgett has also applied his talents to reviving the storied Mason & Hamlin piano at a factory in Haverill, Massachusetts. Two decades of working with reproducing systems and pianos convinced him that the piano action-a true "Rube Goldberg" contraption of springs, felt, and bits of wood-was a ripe for improvement. His solution is the new Wessell, Nickel, & Gross action.Visit the WNG web site to learn more about the piano actions, the company, and why you should be using WNG action parts.
