Frank's New Piano

For all of you who have been patiently waiting for me to reveal (admit?) the brand of my new piano, this is the thread.

For those who insisted they already know what it is, and couldn't resist telling everyone, shame on you for trying to ruin our fun. For those who claimed to know (and the few who actually did) and chose to go along with the game, thank you for playing along.

For those who were reasonably sure they guessed right, the answer will be revealed shortly in the thread.

And finally, for those who have no clue what I'm talking about, I've been stringing people along (pun intended) about my new piano for quite some time now. Mostly because the game was fun, but also partly because I just didn't have the time to put this together correctly.

So, click the link and read the thread about Frank's New Piano

Piano Tour of Germany & Austria
Our tour of Germany & Austria in June was amazing! As many of you know we organized a tour in Germany and Austria of piano factories, composer's homes, music museums, and much more.

A few of us have posted pictures of the tour in a thread on the forums, as well as in a photo gallery on the forums. I've also posted lots of pictures on my FaceBook page.

The advantage of posting them in the photo gallery is that is shows a thumbnail, medium image, and allows you to click on the medium image to bring up the full size original.
If you were with us for the tour, please be sure to share your pictures and comments.
If you missed the tour, you missed a great time. Let us know if you'd be interested in joining us for the next tour. The tour was incredible, we had such a wonderful time.

You can see some pictures and comments in the following thread, please check it out... Piano & Musical Tour - Europe 2011 Click Here for Pictures and Reports Now!
Four of us actually started somewhere else, you can read about it in the Frank's New Piano thread listed at the top of this newsletter.

Do You Visit Our Other Forums?
Wanna Know Why You Should?

Do you ever visit our other forums?
What do I mean? Many of our members (and guests) find a specific forum from our list and stay with that one forum.

Now if you are primarily interested in discussing playing the piano with other pianist, you probably do want to mostly visit the Pianist Corner, or the Pianist Corner - Non Classical.

If you are searching for a new piano or curious about your old/current one, you likely want to be visiting the forum called Piano Forum.
Even so, you may find it interesting to pop into the Piano Tuner-Technician's forum, or the Teachers Forum occasionally just to see what is going on.

Or maybe drop in on the Digital Piano Forum to see what the latest keyboards are all about and what people are saying about them.

Did you even know we have an entire section of forums Just For Fun?
That's right, a collection of forums of stuff just for fun.

Than we have the Mechanical Music Forum for discussions about player pianos, nickelodians, music boxes, and other mechanical musical instruments.

There's even one for Organs including electronic (think B3), theatre, and pipe.

If that's not enough, try our Directory for information about some of the other 1000+ pages of Piano World. You'll even find music related jigsaw puzzles you can do online, and music word searches we created.

So see, there's lots to explore on Piano World if you're curious enough to check it out.

What Piano Brands Are Currently in Production?

I am trying to compile a complete list of acoustic piano brands currently in production. I'm constantly surprised by how many people think there are only a handful of brands still being made.
I'm primarily interested in actual brands, not stencil names stuck on someone else's piano.
Stencils by the way should not be confused with pianos built to specifications that set the piano apart from others. A gray area I know, and probably food for another discussion in a different thread.

Sticking with acoustic pianos for this list. What Piano Brands Are in Production Now?
