Ratimir Martinovic was born in Kotor(Montenegro),a picturesque town on the adriatic sea. He received his musical education in Kotor and Novi Sad ( Serbia ) at the "Isidor Bajic" Music school and at the Academy of Art with Prof. Kemal Gekiæ. He graduated in 1999 playing Bach's »Goldberg Variations«, Beethoven's »Hammerklavier« Sonata, Chopin's Four Balllades, and Prokofiev's Toccata to great critical acclaim. He received his Masters degree in 2002, playing Bach repertoire.
Ratimir Martinovic completed his advanced studies with well-known pedagogues and pianists such as Karl-Heinz Kammerling, Hiroko Nakamura, Jacques Rouvier, Arie Vardi, Sergio Perticaroli, Arbo Valdma, Alexei Nasedkin, Jelena Richter, Victor Liadov and Marian Ribicky.
He has performed in over 400 recitals, chamber concerts and concerts with orchestra. He played in a lot of important concert halls in Rome , Salzburg , Bonn , London , Taipei , Miami , Helsinki , Warsaw , Hamamatsu , Paris , Zagreb , Ljubljana , Florence , Kansas City, Helsingborg and further more.
Martinovic is very much involved in video productions. He has made already seven video-clips about the life of Ginastera, Prokofiev, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Brahms, Ravel, produced by the Radio/ Television Montenegro and Radio/Television Serbia. Five documentary movies have been recorded about his work, of which the last one, »The heaven and soul« won the first prize at the "International TV Festival in Albena", Bulgaria in 2004.
