Michelsen Music serves Central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from two locations.
Our first store is located in the historic Lowenstein Building in Negaunee, Michigan. It is the largest music store in the U.P., and also one of the oldest, having just celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2006.
2006 also marked the opening of our Schofield, WI store. We are the only dealer of acoustic pianos in the Wausau area, and also offer the best selection of print music, with discounts to teachers and music directors.
Both locations feature in-house band and orchestral instrument repair facilities, staffed by expert repairpeople. Piano tuning is available through the Wisconsin store. We pride ourselves on the quality of our service.

Our show room is fitted with a full service workshop area to show clients the regulation and prepping done to every piano in the store. It is vital that even a beginner's piano be regulated accurately. Too often, students become frustrated and quit lessons because of poorly adjusted actions (mechanisms). We believe that the workshop and our expertise will encourage our visitors to ask questions and better educate themselves about the piano, which will make their decision easier.
