Description
This is how I currently setup my eyelets & beckets when doing single string plain wires (Viennese).

Note:
1) the eyelet is flat against the table with the natural curvature of the wire orientated upwards,
2) the eyelet and the becket are both bent 90 degrees (left: towards the bass) to the direction of the wire.

There should be zero twists in the wire using this method. This approach [most likely] produces a more stable tone over a longer period of time (i.e., fewer false beats).

Yes the difference with the way I do is in the becket, the last coil is done while bending the becket around the hook (on the left side) in a "S" shape, then it is cut to length .
The coils are also tighter, and the eyelet less open, as I pull on the wire strong when making the eyelet.

The becket keep the coils well tight they do not tighten much when tension is added.

I have seen a video from the factory (Boesendorfer) where the stringer was making a lot of eyelets, that last motion around the hook was well noticed.

I am aware of how the factory does it; that is not my concern--my focus has more to do with perfection, not cost-effiency.

I am in the US with limited tools, and I made those bends by hand to demonstrate that a single string wire could be bent in such so that there is no twist once installed. The point being: the eyelet was flat on the table, the tuning coil was 90 degrees to wire in the direction of the bass, and the curvature of the wire was UPWARDS.

The other details you pointed out are correct, and that is also how I would do it when restringing. However, if a string breaks and I don't have a hook setup in the field, then this is essentially how I would do it (plus one more revolution so that the eyelet appears to be on the right side). When installed, the coils and eyelet tighten and look identical to what you've described.

I'll be back in Vienna next week; perhaps I can take a new picture and correct those details.
