60[/b] | | | Performer's name: | jotur - Cathy Turner | | Experience: | 2 years of lessons as a teen, a lo-o-o-o-o-ng time off, playing for dancing since 1995 | | Direct music link: | click to download | | Title of piece: | It Had To Be You | | Composer: | lyrics - Gus Kahn, music - Isham Jones | | Source of music: | Sheet Music Magazine, March/April 1991 | | Instrument used: | Casio Privia 100X | | Recording method: | digital to PC thru audacity | | Critical feedback wanted: | No | | Additional info: | This is the original take - I was still reading the last phrase so I don't feel like I know it as well as it deserves - not quite the swing it needs. It's still a great tune, tho. This SM Mag is from the same batch I found in a thrift store that had Tuxedo Junction, but I like the magazine so much I got a subscription. It's really fun to sit down with a stack of them and just play thru them until I find something that grabs me, like this tune did. And pretty much it's all early intermediate arrangements - so if you like the tunes from this era (and the 50's, 60's, 70's, etc ) the magazine is a good investment. |

63[/b] | | | Performer's name: | cscl | | Experience: | 20 months | | Direct music link: | click to download | | Title of piece: | Andantino or Ivan Sings | | Composer: | Aram Khatchaturian | | Source of music: | Essential Keyboard Repertoire, Vol. 2 | | Instrument used: | Estonia 190 | | Recording method: | Zoom H2 | | Critical feedback wanted: | Yes | | Additional info: | Uggghhh! I didn't want to let a recital slip by, but I've had so little time to get this done. I had 20 minutes with the Zoom H2 tonight and did the best I could under the circumstances. Enjoy the good bits such as they may be and ignore the rest! I'm trying to work this up for a June recital, so it's still a work in progress. |
