Nervously awaiting a response

I just decided to teach myself how to play piano last weekend and I'm making suprisingly good progress. But after reading these forums for many hours, I decided to take all the advice I've read and try to get a teacher.
I sent an e-mail asking my daughter's piano teacher (I love her she's great), if she teaches adults, and if she'd be willing to take me on. But there is a condition which is with my busy schedule I can only commit to 2 lessons per month. I hope she is agreeable to everything. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm so anxious to get her response.

That's great Barb. I know alot of people that do lessons every other week. And in this economy I am sure some income is better than no income. So, it looks like the odds are in your favour. Let us know how it turns out.

Well, its been 16 hours since I e-mailed her and haven't heard anything back. But I always have to remind myself that everybody doesn't work at the computer all day long and check their e-mail through out the day like I do.

Give her some time kiddo....
She might need to check her schedule and see if a twice a month lesson plan will work for her right now. And, maybe think about it for a day or so.
I would wait until at least Monday to give her the weekend. Then, maybe a phone call.
Good luck...

ooh, fun! Good luck! And, yeah, give her some time... she may be having a crazy day and not able to get to the computer (it happens!) And if it turns out she can't fit you in... don't give up - ask her if there's anyone she can recommend that you work with Good luck!

Well, just as I was feeling down, she answered my e-mail And not only does she teach adults(she currently has 8 I will be number 9) and is willing to take me, but she actually recommends twice per month for her adult students since our schedules are much busier than most children's.
Plus she has the day and time that works perfect for me open (I kind of thought she did as I have her calendar from my dd's lessons). So I am OFFICIALLY starting lessons next Wednesday.
I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano, thus the reason my dd has had lessons since she was 4.5, but if it wasn't offered in school it wasn't an option when I was growing up (I learned the flute and guitar instead). Well here is to a 43 year old's dream finally coming true.
Thanks all!

That's great, BarbVA! Does she offer some kind of recital to her adults? My teacher has about six of us, and we have the greatest time twice a year playing for each other, having dinner and drinking wine (mostly in that order). I've found that the adults who are willing to put in that precious time to practice are a very interesting group of people!
