Practicing hard (as we all do) can work up a hearty appetite - so what do you like to munch on and/or sip while practicing?
During my morning practice session I usually have just a couple of cups of hot tea (English Breakfast, thank you), while during my evening practice session right after dinner it's usually just a bottle of spring water and 3-4 Werther's hard candies (yum).
And have you ever had any rather unsavory (and damaging) experiences with getting crumbs and/or liquids onto (into) your keyboard?
Regards (and hopefully among the first to wish you a happy & tasty Thanksgiving), JF

Usually coffee in the morning. Maybe a diet cola in the evening...'cept maybe a glass of wine if I'm practicing on Friday or Saturday evening (more than one though and things fall apart). And..I have a jubejube weakness so if there any of those in the house......

I keep a bottle of water on a table near the DP. Never on it, I have a cat who likes to bat things off surfaces. Crystal Light is great for changing flavors.
As for food... well, usually I remember to eat after practice.. forgetting is a pretty bad habit :|

A few times a week I have a Mai Tai while practicing. Only one, though. And yes, I do get hungry. I usually snack on chips, but I keep the chips on a table several feet away. That way, no crumbs get on the keyboard.

There is a can of butter toasted peanuts from the Girl Scouts that I nibble on....
And in the evening there is usually a glass of wine that helps me with my playing.
I dont think the two go well together so the peanuts are for during the day and the wine at night!!!!!

I practice in the evening, after work, and treat myself to a huge glass of latte macchiato with flavoured syrup or hot chocolate with espresso and frothed milk. Preparing it has become kind of a ritual or opening ceremony for my practice sessions. Usually I add some cookies but I stop playing to nibble at them - chewing seems to interfere with my sense of rhythm.
I also get up between pieces to go and drink still water.

I usually have water on the side table next to the digital piano... but no food while I'm practicing. BUT - I've noticed that nibbling on nice high-quality chocolate while trying to do composing homework really helps things work much more smoothly (and helps me stay up into the wee hours of the morning getting things done!) Oh chocolate, my yummilicious downfall!!!

Well, as much as I like potato chips, I would never eat or drink near my piano. Sometimes when I get up early in the morning and play my grand piano I will set my coffee cup on a coffee table near the piano. If I want a drink of coffee, I will get up and go to the coffee table and take a sip and go sit back down on the piano bench. My grand piano is near and dear to my heart and I don’t want to get crumbs or liquids down into the action or soundboard. You can look at me and tell that I am not missing any meals or snacks due to playing my piano. Take care, Rickster

In the early morning (5:00 or so) I will bring my second cup of coffee to the piano, where it sits on the nearby 'drink stand' and gets forgotten. In the afternoon or evening, this would be Diet Coke, that likewise gets forgotten - unless I get stopped for some other reason, at which time I might take a swig if I remember (or notice) the drink is there. If I'm hungry when practicing, I ignore it and it goes away - after all, I'm busy! I can't be bothered with food when I'm trying to work. On the other hand, if the cats are hungry they make sure I take care of it before I can practice in peace.

I used to nibble on shredded wheat or peanuts but since I got my Steinway, I've imposed a no eating rule on myself. "He's" just to precious to me to mess up with crumbs or spills.

I wouldn't think of it. I really should get up more often to at least get a drink, but I don't even do that unless I needed a stretch. But, who's to say that away from the keyboards and pianos that we can't endulge, especially on a day such as today. :3hearts: Sweet Potato Pie , made from scratch today. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. I made a special trip to town an bought myself one of those little fern stands. I put it right beside my piano bench. It is the perfect (and safe) place for my mornng coffee and my evening glass of wine.
