I have just started playing music. Learning how to read sheet music was not that difficult. Right now I am practicing sight reading. There is one problem I have stumbled upon which is tempo. I have never practiced tempo or really paid attention to it. Now, it is a problem. Getting the right on the right beat is fine, but as for getting the note between the beats is where i am lost. What I really need to do is started from easy.

How do you go about practicing?

You must tap your foot. The notes between the beats will happen when your foot is up.
snobbyish, yet maybe helpful.

i agree. it's about counting, whether you count by your voice or your foot.

Counting is the key. Tap your foot or count in your head \:D

Also take it slow and gradually speed up to tempo. This is what I have done with piano and other instruments that I played...
