I've thoroughly enjoyed getting a peek at everyone; their families and hobbies. May I add to the list? The photo was taken this March in Vysehrad Castle park in Prague. Incidentally, about 100 yards from both Dvorak & Smetana's graves! Left to right: my daughter Katie (who plays piano also), my mother Shirley (sporting babushka. It was COLD!) and me! Prague is also home to what must be the world's largest metronome... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague_Metronome

Oh my God a 1959 Cadillac. Here's me in the 1980s. I used to hire out my 1959 Caddy for extra cash. Here is me, Patsy Cline and "Ernestine" (from the phone company) arriving in style at a Texas bash.

JeanieA, I envy your trip to Prague. Around a year ago a close friend, who now is a U.S. citizen, visited her mother and sister in her and their native Slovakia living near the Chezcoslovakian border. She brought back and gave to me a beautiful coffee table book chock full of photos of Prague, where she, her mother and sister visited. I certainly hope to visit such a beautiful and historic city. Thanks for the photo. I'll bet you all had the time of your life. Regards, Lisztener

kathyk: Yes, we loved the city although next time will plan the visit for later in the year when it's warmer. We did enjoy the Easter markets, though! Euan: too bad you missed the 'grave tour,' you were so very close! I have attached the photos I took of both burial sites so you can have the virtual experience. The Czechs have a much different attitude toward cemeteries than we do. Every one we visited was well-kept, family members still tend to graves of long gone ancestors. They are very pleasant, pretty places to visit! Lisztener: It was a wonderful trip, we did go for my Mom's benefit as her grandmother emigrated from Prague in the early 1900s. Mom grew up with stories of the old country and longed to go and see it for years. We finally got around to it this year. I'd love to go back and spend the entire trip going to concerts. The city is chock full of music, concerts everywhere at all times of the day, all types of music. People are walking the streets with all kinds of instrument cases and music portfolios. We did find time to go to a piano concert at the Rudolfinium (and shopped the basement music store: my copy of Czerny was purchased there) and go to the Theatre of the Estates for a performance of The Magic Flute. I would have loved to do a lot more.

sleepingcats, It's not frequent enough that we see a beautiful woman posing with a beautiful piano. Pay no attention to my flirtatious talk. I'm just one who cannot resist commenting on beauty. Regards, Lisztener

USAPT, Your picture looks just like a 50's poster. Very cool! Sleepcats, that's a very lovely picture. JeanieA, I heard from many people that Prague is a very beautiful city. Dvorak's grave is pretty impressive! Paris also has a very famous cemetery (its name alludes me right now.) There are *many* famous people buried there - poets, musicians, writers, etc. Jim Morrison's grave is there and there were/are always a crowd of hippies gathered there, smoking pot! (in memory of Morrison?) Pay no attention to my flirtatious talk. I'm just one who cannot resist commenting on beauty. Lisztener, haha! And I can't help commenting on a good sense of humor.

Rosanna, it's Pere Lachaise in Paris. It's really weird, but still a thrill to be close to such famous people although the current "vertical elevation" is not the same!

Time to put myself out there too I guess. I am very new to forums, so it is nice to meet all of you. After I have been scouring without being a member for a while, I feel like I know you all a bit more than anyone knows me. But hopefully that will change. ;] This is me.

Hi everyone - I've enjoyed looking at all the photos in this thread. I haven't posted in this forum much in the last 2-3 years, but have been around for a while, so hi to those I know from years past and nice to meet you to those I just met through this thread. I'll make it a point to drop in a bit more often than every 2 years. Here's my piano: and me THEN: and NOW:

plays88skeys, You are another beautiful woman with a beautiful piano. With proper deference to you, in an earlier post to another beautiful woman in this thread, I seem to have painted myself into a corner that requires a response from me whenever a beautiful woman with piano posts a photo in this thread. So, I'll try to withdraw, gracefully, from my self-imposed requirement after this sincere compliment to you. Respectfully, Lisztener
