Bluemarine, what a beautiful city!

I had no idea there were palm trees in Croatia.

National Geographic Magazine named Croatia in 2005 as the most beautiful country in the world.

Please, more pictures, of the most beautiful country in the world!

One of the most famous opera singers of all time was born in Zagreb,Croatia, Zinka Milanov.

Fortunately, her glorious voice has been preserved on CDs.

Here's some more roof-tops in Dubrovnik for M&H:

start them young. I have since got a better 76 key semi weighted board (not enough room here for the real thing) [Linked Image]

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, leggy blonde in one hand, whisky in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!

Having just enjoyed looking at all of your photos I thought it only fair to post some of my own.

I just got my partner Bob to take one of me specially for you - no makeup/hair colour growing out at the ends/blotchy skin, but who cares. I certainly don't wink

[Linked Image]

Then I tried to take one of him, but he wouldn't let me. So I sneaked a shot while he was in the shower just now, and cut out the rude bits laugh I can put them back in if you like, for a small fee.

Now for the other loves of my life: no room for the fourteen Norwegian Forest Cats, and the piano is rather ordinary, so here is our Airedale Terrier Butz (age six years going on six months):

OK, you asked for it. Here are a few from down memory lane. I've been going through a box of loose photos. There aren't many of me. Not only am I camera shy, I'm also usually the one holding the camera.

I wish I had a fun picture, but I don't own a digital camera. Here's the only digital image I have of me.

I'm glad this thread got resurrected so the newer members can jump on in. Thanks for sharing, everybody!

p.s. maryrose, is that white cat in the photo also a Norwegian Forest cat? I'm not familiar with the breed.

Monica - yes, the white cat is a Norwegian - although at the time I was about to give him a bath as he had walked right through a plate of curry and become somewhat off-white. smile In fact he's the one I use as my avatar.

Hey Maryrose, I like your Norwegian cat, would have loved to see him "curried".

Prooves that there are a few good things coming from Norway. Personally I think I prefer Edvard Grieg and Leif Ove Andsnes before the cats though.....

It is so nice to see you, Frycek !

Also like your mega photo NancyM333,I learned to use the "preview" putting in my picture. You can edit if you like but at least now we have noticed you smile

I am so HAPPY to finally SEE you all. And what is not so very surprising, you all look almost as I pictured. Isn't it funny how our personality comes out from our writing and somehow creates a countenance that resembles us??

It's great to be able to conjure up a face to a name.

Since I can't find a picture of me that doesn't have my eyes closed and my mouth open (usually how I go through life), I had to dig out the latest one I could find...just a few years ago (uh oh, my nose is starting to grow). Yikes. laugh

Me at my nephew's wedding.

My daughter Susan, at 2, starting in early to be the next Rubinstein. Kinda blurry.

[Linked Image]

And on her wedding day. Was there ever a more beautiful bride?? (Sorry, I'm a little partial.) That's my brother's home...it has 7 bathrooms!
[Linked Image]

And my all-sufferring, ever patience, husband, Glen. He'll be 80 this year and is still a chick magnet!!

[Linked Image][/IMG]

And, of course, my resident piano critic, Kasha. She yaps constantly while I'm trying to practice. A real brat. Cute, but still a brat. BTW, Kasha is Polish for Kathy.
[Linked Image]

And last, my Chopin room (shrine) in the process of getting done. Have about 20 pictures of him to hang on the wall. I told Frycek that all I need to add is a kneeler for genuflecting and some voltive candles.

[Linked Image]

Thank you all for sharing. It's made my day.

Kathleen

Nice to "meet" you, Kathleen and LisztAddict!

Kathleen - yes your daughter is beautiful, and I'm jealous of you having a whole room to devote to dear Chopin. Kasha is adorable - Butz sends her a big sloppy lick!

LisztAddict - so where's your picture of Liszt? Your piano looks absolutely ginormous. Makes me even more glad that I didn't send in a photo of my humble little instrument!

I've just though - Frycek - we need a photo of Sam to complete your gallery.

Love to all, Mary-Rose
