On weight/touch... My teacher has an upright with a fairly 'heavy action'. He exploits the completely hokey 'una corda' mechanism on uprights by practicing just before a recital with the uc pedal rammed down - he says it seems to help with the transition to a concert grand; makes sense. However just to be clear, in lessons he advocates use of uc as an effect, not a cheat... smile

Looking forward to the etude experience...

Seriously, there's been some suggestions that it be the nocturnes next October. There are already some mazurkas coming up in March. As for who decides??? We do, however we manage to do that. Maybe we should do a poll?

That would be nice. Lots of great Nocturnes.

Is there a post for the Mazurka recital? I just fell in love with one of them that I'd like to put under a deadline if it's not already taken.

Search under Mazurka Marathon. The list is on the first page.

Thanks -Frycek. Darn, 63/3 is already taken. I'll look into the ones that are free. They all have their wonderful character.

Well, I've got a Waltz sort of under control. If y'all don't do the waltzes, I'll just have to put it into the next quarterly recital instead.

I was hoping that we'd get around to a Valse recital as well.

I "vote" for nocturnes as well. Maybe we should do a poll? Or rather, maybe MaryRose should do a poll - - -

I vote Nocturnes too...
And though this may be way premature (not to mention the wrong thread),.... can I place my bid for 27/2?

Oh, thank you, Chardonnay, for starting the bidding!

I'd like dibs on either 55/2 or 62/2.

55-1 for me, if we're decided on Nocturnes.

Early dibs are so contagious! Steven, if you end up with 55/2 then I'll take 62/2. It's one of my favorites yet to polish. smile

Well PianoDad, 952, looks like we're outnumbered this time :-)

So many wonderful Nocturnes. I already know 37/2 and could easily polish it - unless someone else wants it or wants to learn.
