I just decided to learn this, but my piano teacher is out of town for a week so I can't get fingering suggestions. I'd prefer not to spend a lot of time with crazy fingering... The only problem is that 16th note jump in measure 3. Do you do any crossover in the prior measures so you're a little more in position, or do you just leap? With 2, or 3? It's hard to imagine playing it smoothly at the speeds I've heard with a pure leap, but since I'm just learning leaps, maybe I'm underestimating what 10 years of practice might result in ;-)

Thanks for any help.

Hi Keith,
The fingering isn't fancy. For the turn (not really a jump) from the D's to the F's in measure 3 you should be going from finger 1 to finger 3 on both hands. It's easier if you do one hand a split second before the other, as you can see the LH doing in this video.

Similarly, when you jump back to the LH D and RH A you can move the LH first to avoid the blind separation of both hands at the same time.

This is a great piece for practicing jumps.

LOL!

If this is Mussette in D Major BWV Anh 126, this is how I fingered the right hand for the first four measures:

I don't believe it is supposed to be legato between the shifts.

I agree, this is a great piece for jumps and octave left hand accompaniment.

Hope this helps.

Thanks folks! That's how I've been playing it, it's good to get reassured...
