A guitar playing friend recently recommended the E-Z Play Today sheet music series of books for me to learn some easy pieces that are familar popular music. I am concerned that it maynot include bass clef though. (Because of a review of one book posted on Amazon.) If anyone has experience with this series and can tell me if they generally have both clefs or not, I would appreciate it. I really want to learn pieces that use both hands.

If you have suggstions of other sheet music series I would love that too.

Thanks!

As far as I can tell from looking at the sheetmusicplus website. EZ sheet music books just have the clef line and then chords written above. I think they are simular to guitar chords.

There are allot of websites that have free music that you can download, and some of the sites have their music seperated by ability levels. Like this one for example:

free sheet music sorted by difficulty

It might not be eactly the kind of music your looking for but it might be a start.

I hope this works, KaylaX

Thanks KaylaX,

I will give that website a try. All I'm looking for is sheet music that uses both hands, and is familiar. I want to be able to tell if I am playing it correctly or not, because I already know what the piece sounds like. Most of the pieces in the method books I am learning from are made up, so I've never heard them before.

Thanks again!

Hey er Hey Jude..

You might want to give Dan Coates a try. He has produced quite a few "beginner" stlye music books and he uses both clefs. Just be careful, as he also produces some very advanced stuff.

IMHO, all of it sounds good. Here's one example

And, another...

Hey Jude,

I have also found that if I have a piece that looks do-able but I dont know what it sounds like. Sometimes you can find it on you tube. You tube has been a big help for me.

Also, somewhere on this forum there was a thread about free sheet music sites. Im sure someone out there can find it. You can also use the search function on this forum and type in free sheet music and that might get you somewhere.

Also, some method books come with C.D's. Thats been a big help for me too.

Good luck and enjoy the journey, BTW welcome to the forums laugh

EZ Play Today books definitely have only the treble cleff and the chord names above the staff. They are meant for a keyboard with one finger chord capability.

I have 2 suggestions for easy piano sheet music.

The first is: www.sheetmusicplus.com, first search piano, and then easy piano. Then you can look for the song, or the artist that you are looking for. You pay online and they ship to your mailbox.

The second is: www.musicnotes.com you will need to look a little more closely for easy piano, but this site will let you pay and download the music straight to your computer.

You can own a Chickering, Christifori, or Steinway, but if you can't play it.... It is just a piece of eye candy.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate all your suggestions, and information. I have already tried out some, and I will soon try the rest.
