is anyone trying to play this piece from the Reader's Digest book? I find it kind of tricky...

Most of the pieces in that book are "tricky". That song does look especially challenging if you want to play both the melody and harmony. I would recommend either starting with a simpler piece or learn it with just the melody notes first.

Where possible, try to incorporate the organ bass notes in the chords. Play them lightly and they'll add some nice color.

It's a fun movie to watch, and you may know some other songs sung in it.

Yes, it's a bittersweet song. And lovely to play on the piano. I have the Reader's Digest Christmas book you are talking about. I think it's a good comprehensive volume with versions that are generally learned quickly and sound "full" enough to enjoy.

yeah, that's my technique. play either the melody [treble] or harmony [bass] first, whichever's easier to play.
