Thanks Monica for your compliment.

I'm hoping that I can get rid of the noise issue before the recital deadline.

nice work monica and kawaigirl! havent' figured out how to listen to SH yet.

kawaigirl your peice reminded me of the end of 'steppenwolf' by Herman Hesse, where the main character gets a lecture on how finding the beauty in the world is like listening to music on a scratchy victrola. (I read that a long time ago, my details might be off, but the idea is there).

kawaigirl1 - post what computer, soundcard, recording software, microphone you have and some of us techies might be able to help. Last time I heard noise that bad it was a card/motherboard that had fried part of it's circitry - caused by a lightning strike. But it may be something easy to fix too. smile

Ah, there we go, nice work SH. (that name cracks me up every time.)

I have to say the old punk in me likes tolovemoon's piano more than anything! You couldn't get that sound if you tried. Simply played with feeling. smile

Hey thank you everyone for the nice comments and compliments.
So that must mean that the video worked for most, I hope it didnt give anyone trouble.
Shucks I was hoping the site would of went on one of its updating sprees....oh well, now I will have to work extra hard to improve playing...My lights will be on next time..(maybe) I like to be on the other side of the camera...
I think I can change some shy issuses though
specially since I haven't seen any tomatoes flying at me yet...I think with that said, I am now convinced to play a song that I memorized only because I learned it in piano class many years ago...

Wow, what are y'all doing in the adult beginner's forum? S-H, Monica, and kawaigirl, some awesome playing there. The pieces I have heard that y'all shared with us should be more like intermediate level.. I enjoyed them. Thank you for sharing.

Peace!

Thanks to all that gave me the warm feedback.

The secret to my playing is to listen to alot of the recordings from the artists themselves.

Those kind words are definitely encouraging for me. :-)

As for the noise issue, it could be my old microphone. I'm trying to get the one that Monica is using; the problem is, trying to find a store that sells it.

Monica, I'm sure you're getting tired of all the praise being heaped upon you, but I have to add my own. I just finished listening to your delightful recording of Cristofori's Dream for the second time sitting here in my office. How very, very lovely.

I'm going to save your recording for inspiration since my sheet music for this arrived yesterday (you wouldn't know that I ordered this because of your description of it in another thread....).

Thank you.

Thanks Bally, Hey, how about a nice song from you? . Mike White, yourself, Roger Ransom, and now Monica have posted some of my favorite songs so far.

Oh wait, Seaside Lee's "titanic theme" as well. That one was really fantastic.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, LOTS of you guys (and girlies) have posted really great stuff. How about posting up some more?

No rush, as soon as its convienient for you, like maybe in 10 minutes or so! :p

Hunk,

I liked how you played the song - you played it slow (to my ear = nice). Either you're experimenting and/or are intentionally and aware of not "flying" through a song (I hear - and this is good). Bally (agree) re phrasing - it's there. Emotional phrasing - just like speaking sentences, you take a natural breath inbetween thoughts where appropriate (something like that). Nice job. wink

(As soon as I get the laptop away from my daughter, I'll post up something.... Spring Break now).

Peace,
Sharon
