I am a relatively new adult (an older one) beginner. Does anyone know of a piano teacher within a 30-plus mile radius of Lancaster PA? I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my first acoustic piano; a 1927 refurbished 6' A.B. Chase. The piano was in the family for two generations and I felt like I was buying their much loved dog that they had to give up. Who bought it seemed more important than the price, so I got it cheap (tech. gave it thumbs up). I also look forward to talking on this forum instead of the piano (purchase) forum. I play jazz guitar (ECM type chamber jazz) and I am a decent drummer (killed my hearing), but my true love has always been the piano - too many musical hobbies, so the drumset was sold.

Have you tried Menchey's Music in Lancaster? They have a website within which if you enter in "Lancaster" and "piano" and then do some exploring, you will probably get background musical biographies on some of the teachers who are there.

Thanks, mdp1w. Any opinion about the people at the Lancaster Conservatory at R. Piano near F&M? Or would they be turned off by an old 50 somthing;( though I can out run, out swim, and definately out bike my students)
