It's also acceptable to mention other sports-related injuries, such as football, baseball, rugby, NASCAR, etc.
Well, in that case, let me tell you what really happened: I injured my finger while playing baseball at the Irwindale Speedway when a race car driven by a rugby player distracted the war veteran first baseman who then lost his balance and stepped on my finger as I slid into first!

Oh, c'mon! It could have happened! laugh

If we do this then I think Jerry and I will be duking it out again, since we seem to be neck and neck still. Jerry will probably change his mind and want to do it though, since he's going to lose this month. laugh

SAS has a slight lead over me at this time. I let my practicing fall off over the weekend for 3 reasons:

1. We had a garage sale on Saturday
2. Easter Sunday
3. Humphrey Bogart film festival Fri & Sat night

Now, fear not, fellow Dudes, for I will regain the lead over the next day or two, and end the contest with a handsome lead over her. smile

Fat chance Jerry. I got some new music today, so I'm going to be a practicing demon!

I like the idea of pitting people against their closest rivals! For me that would be Cindy and... well, it might be Doug, but I kind of doubt it since I have slipped and I think there's some mystery person between us...

BTW Jerry, had to laugh at (and could totally relate to) your idea of categories! I have a full time (plus!) job and husband, but no kids, so that's one category. Having kids definitely makes a different category... and then there are the lucky ones (like Jerome if I'm not mistaken) who are piano students... sigh!

I wonder if I could go back to school and get a degree in Adult-beginner-ism... I could get a BAB- Bachelor's of Adult-Beginnerism. My thesis could be on pianistic mediocrity! That's works, I'd give me a grant to do that! :p

Man, I'm having a slump here at the end of the month. I have houseguests, and it seems rude to fire up the grand piano at 10:30 and wake the 2 year old girl. . . .

Grrrrrrr.
Houseguests can definitely put a crimp in practicing. I think that your houseguests have put you at a distinct disadvantage this week. Tell them to leave so you can practice! Or maybe . . . Is there a formula to compensate for company -- a kind of houseguest coefficient?

I won't practice with houseguests around. However, I am enjoying watching myself creep up the list!

Looking forward to April chaps! (and chapessess). I missed 5 days at the beginning of March. I don't think I'm going to be going away anywhere until May so bring it on!
Seriously Mark, Cindy and everyone, I don't get much time to contribute here but I really appreciate the practise log and the general bonhomie around this place. And I'm up for any challenges btw......... smile

I thought bonhomie was French rapspeak meaning "good friend"...

I, on the other hand, have never use "dead chuffed" in a sentence. I am going to hold off until I know what the bleep it means.

laugh dead chuffed? bonhomie? laugh

BTW, Cindy, excellent topic: hunched shoulders.

I would like to propose the thesis that playing for long hours with hunched shoulders is the main cause the keyboard appearing concave, and that this could become a new kind of fad, more popular with little kids than spinning around in circles until they throw up. What could this thesis be called? Hunched shoulders as main cause of keyboard-optic distortion? I hear the grant money pouring into my bank account as we speak.

Crikey!

I thought about bunking off on practice today, gobsmacked as I was at Teachum's tenacity. She's gutted, though, and I think a touch knackered, if truth be told. To that I say "luvvly jubberly," mate. I could claim to practice 6 hours a day, but it would just be a great lot of porky pies.

Anyway, I shouldn't rabbit on like this, winding you all up.

Cheers!
