Hi! I had yesterday an exam to enter the Conservatoire (the superior grade), and I passed! Alright... I didn't played my best and I stopped several times, but it was a public performance and I was very nervous. So... having passed I enter the 5-6 last years of my musical career. Who would ever told me that in 2 years I would've done 10? I know I'm not yet at the level of the other students in the conservatoire (because they've studied 8 years more than I!!!), but I will study very hard to demonstrate my possibilities.
Having passed, this exam gives me the title of: Piano teacher!!! I can give lessons! OMG... I'm happy, happy, happy. But I'll have to work hard, hard, hard... very hard, but I'll do! Sure I will.
I just wanted to tell you that, I wanted to share with my musical family my thoughts and emotions, and there you go.
I'll be posting here as always because you guys rock!

Cheers.
Alvaro.

Congratulations, AQ.

That's a wonderful accomplishment in so short a time.

Now we can call you Professor AQ.

I also have 2 years Alvaro. I'm not sure I could pass any exam, much less an exam to enter the Conservatoire.

My congrats and admiration buddy.

Congrats

I don't fully understand tho: you passed your exam in order to start the conservatoire, and you can already start to teach? Here in Belgium, you need to pass the exam to start conservatoire, then pass the final exam of the conservatoire to be entitled to teach

Big, big congratulations!
To pass the exam, let alone with only 2 years of piano is an amazing achievement!

Can I sign up for lessons? ;\)

Thank you all!!

dannylux: No, please! Just Alvaro!!

SideShow: Here there's 2 kind of Conservatoires. In the first ones you do your first 10 years, the second ones are to continue and to finish your career. So I passed the exam of those 10 first years in order to start the last 5 or 6 (I don't know exactly).

Ragnhild: I will post it.

Monica K.: I changed again my display name because I thought that people could have trouble knowing who is who if we all start changing our names. So I went back to AQP87.

Thanks again.

Congratulations Álvaro. I know how the Spanish musical education works, and for me it's nearly unbelievable that you have passed the exam for the "Superior Degree", as it is called here, having played the piano for only two years

Only a few questions: Did you do it having a teacher, or by yourself? Have you passed also the last exam at the "Intermediate degree"? How many hours do you spend then at the piano a day?

Once again...¡Enhorabuena campeón! ;\)

Thanks again to all of you!

Diego Martín: I had a teacher, actually... I had two. This summer it was something like 7 hours per day at the piano. And I guess from now on it'll be the same...

PianoN00b: Thanks \:\)

AdagioM: It was a pleasure to help you with your beautifully played Mozart.

Seaside_Lee: I hope that babe magnet thing works \:D

Congratulations, Alvaro. I, too, remember you from the time you joined the forum. I think it's so awesome that you got to that level so fast and that you had the opportunity to do so! You are very dedicated!
You are (and will be even more)a living proof that it's possible to reach a high level of playing and a pretty good technique when starting later. Very encouraging to me since I started around the same age as you.

Congratulations, Alvaro! Sounds really great. Just not sure if I understood the piano teaching part correctly. Are you a piano teacher now that you've passed the entry or will you be a piano teacher the moment you'll finish the conservatoire? And, if you don't mind asking, which conservatoire is it?

Well done .
I perhaps know how you feel[1], having recently passed my DipABRSM in Piano Performance (first level professional diploma from the Royal Schools of Music in London.)
