Hi everybody!I'm new to this forum and i wanted to introduce myself ^^
I just started taking lessons 2 months ago; i'm 20 years old and I wanted to play piano since I was a little child. Unfortunally my parents didn't allow me but now that I'm a bit older I have the chance to learn to play the instrument I love the most.
In this 2 months I did some scales, some tecnique ex. and now i'm learning M.Clementi Sonatina Op36. n 1...I can now play the 1°mvt and I'm reading the 3°one.
I practice 3 hours a day on a digital piano(yamaha ydp140) but during my weekly lesson I play a Yamaha C3.
I Wrote this just to say hello and to let you know how much I'm glad i bought a piano and I got into this woderful world.
P.S: I'm sorry for my poor english but I'm italian...

Welcome and glad you're able to take lessons now!

I think you'll find yourself in good company here - I also wasn't able to take piano lessons as a child (sadly!) and have started up as an adult, though a bit older than you I wish I had had the sense in my 20s to get started, but better late than never!

I am new as well, although I have to admit that I don't practice near 3 hours a day. I think I feel like I've practiced a lot if I do 30 minutes.

I also am a bit older than you, having started out on Classical at age 59. It's never too late to start, so go for it!!!

You are doing tremendously well if you're playing the Clementi 36/1 after only a couple of months.

Last summer I heard a wonderful net broadcast of Aldo Ciccolini playing the Clementi Sonata Op.34 No.2, the Czerny Sonata No.1, and the Beethoven Waldstein at a live concert in Montpellier, France.

For an 83 year old, he can certainly move his fingers.

Thank you dannylux! I've been playing guitar for a lot of years, but only using tabs and I wasn't able to read scores untill a few months ago...anyway I knew something about chords, scales and theory, so maybe it's a bit easier for me...
As soon as I can I'm going to buy an upright piano in order to be able to improve my touch(I don't know how to say it in english lol).
