Just back from this weeks lesson, it was so good. I played my three pieces that I was asked to brush up on and I played them really well.

My reward - two new exercises that will give me much better left-hand independance and two new pieces. A Grade 3 piece from Trinity Guildhall called 'New Orleans' which is fab and a very nice arrangement of 'Blueberry Hill' in melody form. It has a really catchy left hand pattern. I love it.

Now with Christmas out of the way, and all the other distractions out of my mind - I can look forward to lessons again knowing that I am really making progress.

One last treat, teacher asked me to pick one more piece to learn. We have agreed to John Lennons classic 'Oh My Love'.

Congratulations on your progress Ragtime!

I'm in the same boat with distractions out of the way I'm going to have more piano time this weekend & beyond and I'm really looking forward to it.

Good luck with the new pieces.

That is so exciting. I just had my very first lesson tonight and it was great as well. While I originally intended to self teach myself, I think the perspective that a professional teacher can bring to the mix (even just meeting twice per month like we will be doing) is invaluable. She gave me two new pieces to work on that I'd have NEVER thought of getting for myself, but I like them very much.
