I have a lesson/interview with a teacher.. Haven't had one since '68. We'll see what happens.

Good luck!
Have you spent some time preparing some questions for your teacher and thinking about your answers to the questions your teacher will likely ask?
Things like: What do you want to get out of your piano playing? How much time (realistically) can you devote to practicing? What styles of music do you want to play? How long has it been since you've taken lessons? Do you want to learn more theory, technique, fundamentals, or just play a lot of pieces?
Thinks like that.
We expect a full report as soon as you return!

I wrote a thesis. I am prepared. My goals match her resume. I just hate having someone be better than me at piano playing...especially when they don't think creatively. I know there are ways to do things and I've broken every rule.
Just a wild child who doesn't want to be tamed but desperately needs to be.

I don't recall Ms. Gabriella Reilly mentioning on her site anything about giving piano lessons. Perhaps I should go back and review it again. Oh I know, "ha ha hardly ha ha." I hope you find someone that "fits".

I don't know...
she said "You play beautifully. We could have a lot of fun."
We'll have to do some more corresponding.

that's right. Well I found another teacher to try out. The first one I kind of blew away. She couldn't see my deep seated flaws.
This new one is the pianist for the KC Ballet and thru conversation instantly assessed I was lacking in technique and insisted that until I learned some basics..... like all the scales and some guy's exercises.... I liked her personally instantly.. very bright and driven I guess is how I'd describe her.
anyway we'll get together when gradeschool starts and I have time to breathe.
