Thanks, Ragtime! I redid it and tried to cut down the strings this time. Lady Madonna http://www.box.net/shared/vey86p7qbj I actually got most of the bass line from one of the arrangements at www.musicnotes.com I then added in my own right hand and a few other things.

Originally posted by Ragtime Clown: Mahlzeit, this is a beautiful rendition of a fantastic Lennon track from a brilliant album. Is this from printed music, what key is it in and how long did it take to figure it all out? [/b] Thanks, Ragtime! I didn't really know this was written by John Lennon. I first heard this song on a recording by Jackson Browne. I played it by ear, probably in the key of C because that is what I usually play in -- hmm, actually it's probably in A minor -- and it didn't take very long to figure out. Although it probably helps if you know how to play by ear or have a program such as Transcribe! to help you transcribe it.

It seems like our Beatles thread is running out of steam. Imagine how cool it would be if everyone submitted a song. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope some day more will join us, and the thread will be as one.

Well, as promised, here's "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." I'm also throwing in "Don't Let Me Down" because I stumbled across it in my Beatles book and it seemed to offer a lot of possiblities. Keep the thread alive my friends. Andy http://www.box.net/shared/2adapqvzol http://www.box.net/shared/fd2r1rsesz

Sue says many thanks. And that two of the snippits, Martha My Dear and Lady Madonna were the very first pieces she ever figured out by ear back in HS. But I'm not nearly so talented and amassed my own compelte xerox edition Beatles notebook which she looked at for Day in the Life but found too inaccurate. I did make a special request to include Fixing a Hole which she didn't know and got most of from my notebook. But the arrangements, transitions, and key adaptations are all hers.
Sue also said she's never played any Beatles out before. Closest was some kind of cast party back in 1983 or so. But I think she's suddenly taking a little inspiration from a late dear friend who did a Beatles tribute once... she's down on the piano right now noodling on some more pieces...
