I was doing some Hanon exercises today, and got up to number 9 or 10 where it begins to prepare you for a trill. I've been having trouble with these exercises and I discovered that the 4th and 5th fingers on my left hand are very weak. They just can't keep up with the right hand at faster tempos. What can I do to strengthen those weaker fingers? I'm assuming that maybe I should do some practice with the left hand only, because if I use the right hand all the time, the right hand will get stronger too and the left hand will still be behind.

I'd do LH practice slowly, speeding up a little each day. Disable the right hand by holding a cup of coffee in it. laugh
