I'm a late comer to this thread... just stumbled on it.... I agree with someone who suggested that the plate should indicate the German origin of the instrument. I also think the fallboard should have a different stencil; something like STEINWAY with Hamburg beneath it in smaller letters or "Steinway & Sons" in German. A curved cheek and notched angle adjustment on the music desk is just not enough of a signature. Besides all the info on my soundboard and plate, if you crawl under my August Forster 190, you can read the information written on the frame showing the origin of the instrument. I'll bet your piano sounds magnificent! I can't imagine, however, not having at least an area rug beneath it to control the sound reflection. You are surrounded by lots of hard surfaces including glass on one side... that has to create a hard brightness to the sound that you might like to soften up a bit. Have you tried anything like that? Also, grands look beautiful on a persian rug just the size of the piano. I have a laminate floor and had to put blankets on the floor under the piano until I could go out and buy the rug I liked. It really helped.

Enjoy your well deserved prize. By the way, if you get to read this and wish to respond... was your Hamburg well preped when it arrived or did you need some regulation... I am sure you didn't need any voicing.

Good luck.

Very nice. How much, if you don't mind my asking.

It arrived perfect, erad1948, there was no voicing needed.
Akira: The original price was something like 70.000 (Euros), but it turned to be something like 60.000 because I gave them the Kawai RX-2 I owned.

And in my twisted face... there's not the slightest trace of anything that even hints at kindness...

Looks fabulous! Owning an excellent grand piano (and a good room to play it in) is one of my big goals in life 3hearts
