So I took the plunge and decided I probably can learn to play. Thanks for all of the encouragement from this thread:
http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/32/3490.html

So I wound up with the Roland KR-103 and was lucky enough to get it delivered same day (today). So I have one problem - I literally haven't been able to get my daughter off it yet. I figured she would be into it. She's already figured out there are buttons to push to get different snazzy beats out of the thing. Anyway, I'm going to start Dora The Explorer on the TV here to see if I can lure her off.

Here's pics, as promised in the thread title.

I just love the way small children (especially little girls) so delicately finger the keys. \:\)

She looks as if she is holding her hand correctly. Let her play. The novelty will probably wear off. If it doesn't, you may just have a prodigy on your hands. \:D \:D

She is adorable.

Good luck with your new "adventure."

Your daugther is so precious; let her play and explore on it. Just teacher that she needs to have clean hands and not eat or drink anything near it. So she can play it for a long time, until you buy her her first grand (minimum 6 feet, hehe).

Congratulations on your nice digital piano, may it serve you well for years to come. How exciting!

Oh, I forgot. You both can learn together to do duets. That would be cool.

Update: I finally was able to get on a bit. Once she figured out I was playing with her toy though she came and tried to push me off the bench.

So, anyway - what's a good first song I should try to learn? Keep it simple - I'm just beginning. Not really into classical so something more "pop" that I can start out with...

Are you going to play by ear, fake something from a fake book, or learn to sight read something?

That makes a difference.

Very nice piano. I have A Roland KR-7 and its fantastic. You definitely purchased a high quality digital.

BTW, let your daughter explore as others have said. She may teach you a thing or two someday...who knows!

Congratulations, veeter! Has it been hard to figure out how to work all the controls, or is it pretty self-explanatory and/or do they have a good instruction manual?

Well I've barely just begun so I just started out working the piano sounds only. I played around with some stuff though on the beats that you can play but at the moment I'm mainly just interested in straight piano. That's complicated enough for me.

Veeter, congratulations! The piano, and your daughter, are beautiful. I have a 3 year old girl of my own, and she loves to play both my electronic and my acoustic piano. She usually wants to play whichever one I happen to be playing at the moment.

Take it as a good sign. She may share your love of music as she grows up.

grats, very nice piano and very cute little girl.

I agree with everyone, I would let her explore it would be nice if she stuck with it and could start lessons at some point. What i wouldn't give to have had a piano in my house when I was young or even lessons for that matter.

Veeter. Congratulations on your new piano, and your wonderful daughter. Set a time for her to play, and encourage her. She sounds like a natural. Gaby Tu
