i was wondering why i cant play and read a piano music sheet. I'm having a hard time to think and look at a sheet to play even on a easy one. i already know the notes on the staff <----- if I'm correct i been playing piano on my own for 8 years never had a teacher because we cant afford one so i been playing by ear which i got quite good but i want to up my skill by learning how to read music sheet i know all the name of the keys but i just need some help and sorry for not being organized in my writing.i just need a advice on what to do or if there's a awesome website anything please

There is no magic formula or "secret" you need to unlock. The procedure is faily simple, and comprises of three steps i.e. practice, practice and eh..practice!!

In a bit more detail, find the easiest simple Simon music you can find, even if it means you go back to kiddies style books with songs in the 5 finger position, and sight read those. If you already know the notes of the staff and the note values you should be able to manage that OK. Then simply up the difficulty of music over time, ensure you do some sight reading practice every day and eventually you'll slowly start to realise that you CAN play and read at the same time.

And try and keep your eyes on the page as much as you can.

Hi, I'm new on piano but I've been playing a couple of wind instruments for a few years. One thing that's helped me is separating note recognition from rhythm reading, and to practice each separately.

Here's a website with drills for translating the staff to the piano keyboard:

You can, if you need to, concentrate on one clef or just the lines, just the spaces, etc.

Again, you can choose time signatures, levels of difficulty, etc.
