I wanted to say thank to Piano World for helping me get going once again on the piano.

I'm a 35 year old 4th grade teacher, and I've dabbled in piano multiple times over the years, but I've recently decided to really start working on progressing.

I've learned a great deal by lurking and reading posts, and recently signed up for the practice log to help motivate me further.

And yesterday I took the plunge and went and met with a piano teacher- it seems like a good fit and I'm thrilled with the prospect of taking lessons. (And by the way, I found my piano teacher on these forums as well- John v.d.Brook)

So thanks for the motivation and inspiration and I look forward to years of piano playing...

\:\)

Welcome to the forum, Adam! What kind of music do you like to play?

Check out our quarterly recitals, too. The next one is only a few weeks away, so it might be too soon for you, but you can start thinking about August one. \:\)

I'm interested in baroque/classical/romantic... This is actually my third attempt at starting lessons... First time was when I was around 6 or 7 for about a year. Next time, when I was in college I took lessons for a couple of months... Now at 35 I hope to finally stick with it!

Welcome, Adam. I took as a child, but I attempted to restart my lessons several times before I finally had it stick. I hope this time will be the charm for you.

Wow, you're taking from John v.d. Brook? Please report back to us after every lesson. I fully expect to hear that he is just as insightful and talented in person as he appears through his posts.

Nancy
