Finally, after half year using a keyboard, I bought myself a digital piano today. I spend a lot of time trying all models, discussing it over at the digital part of this forum and decided. And now it is in my home! Woohoo. I will have to move some furniture around to make room for it. But I can now really start to learn playing. I'm terribly excited! First impression. Being used to a keyboard, I thought the weighted keys would give problems, but they do not. I love those. I really need to get used to the new sounds this piano makes, its different from my keyboard (it should be better, but it feels 'wrong' sometimes). Maybe I'll post some pictures here in addition to all those beautiful images of the grands some of you have .

Sure signa, I need more technique, better sight reading, better rythm, better ear, hmmm, well I'm just a beginner. I was just surprised I was able to play anything . I moved all my furniture around to make room for it, and its now ok. Not ideal, but ok. Annoying thing is I cut my finger moving around a large computer screen, and playing piano with a bandage...well. Tomorrow will be better

Yes exactly. when i first bought my yamaha u3 my daughter and I were not used to the new sound and pondering how come the KB sounds better. However, just after a while we never turn back to the keyboard anymore and my daughter was just telling me that day how nice a piano sounds.

Laurens,
Congratulations on finally taking the plunge!
Are you saying you are having second thoughts or just making an observation of the sound? Don't forget that the ultimate sound evaluation would be made with some top grade head phones or by playing it through a first rate sound system.
The on-board speakers are good and convenient but (from what I've read) not up to the ultimate sound capabilities of the instrument.

Instead of LIFTING the piano bench into position I tried to scoot it like you might a chair. Unfortunately I caught my pinky in the lid at the hinge point and my full weight came down between the seat lid and the case of the seat, Oh, poor pinky!! I had to bandage it up to play it was so tender. It took a month for the pain to subside though.

I love it. The key weight thing was a little hard at first, so I started by playing simple beginning stuff, and gradually am working up to where I was with the keyboard. Congrats!
