Am I allowed to list more than one at a time?

79. To sooth the savage beast. We have two Yorkies and adopted two abandoned cats. They come running to hear the piano but couldn't care less about TV or stereo.

80. To express with our hands what our hearts feel.

81. To add sunshine to a cloudy day. Just thinking about my piano brightens the days I am too busy with work.

82. To relive wonderful memories of the past with family and friends.

83. To preserve a little of the past when everything wasn't artificial and mass-produced. We have lived for 21 yrs in an 1886 Queen Anne home now with my 1919 Weber upright player, got Nov '06.

84. To gain the confidence to make mistakes on the way to mastering a desired milestone.

85. To set a goal and bit by bit finally achieve it.

Can you tell I am a new learner and still really enthusiastic?!

It is never too late to be what you might have been. George Eliot

1919 Weber Duo-Art upright, Roland RD-700GX,
1918 Chickering Ampico 5'8", 1923 Steinway Duo-Art 6'4"

90. Because no other instrument comes close in terms of versatility (the piano can be the bass, baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano voices at any time).

105. You can go solo or join a band - or both!

106. Playing piano gives you a foundation to play other keyboard instruments as well - synthesizer, organ, clavichord, and harpsichord. With all of these, you can be a whole orchestra!

107. Music from any era, and in any style, sounds good on piano!
