Hi all.

Thought I'd let you all know that I just bought my very first digital piano \:\) (I've been using keyboards so far). It's a CLP130, and I'm pretty happy with it ^^
Here's the link to the page of that model:
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Cont...D203500,00.html

In the other hand, I wanted to ask something: I know what the pedal on the right is for (sustain), but what are the other two for?

Thx a lot ;\)

you might want to post this in digital/piano forum area, then you will get answers. btw, digital piano's pedals are the same as ones on a regular piano.

I know the pedals act the same way in both acoustic and digital pianos. My question is what they do...

I haven't had the oportunity too play on a real piano or anything like that; and when I tried the digital before buying it, I didn't press the pedal except for the sustain one, simply coz I don't know wath the others ones do.

Would it be rude to ask how much your piano cost? I am wondering how much more expensive the clavinovas are than the regular digitals.

Oh and the left pedal is the soft pedal. The middle one I don't think many people use but it is something like it holds the first notes down that you play while you play other notes...I think I just read that recently.

Rude? not at all.

I payed US1495, with a discount. The original price was US1625.

And about the effect of the middle and left pedals, could you be a little more specific on what they do, please?

Here's a decent page that explains the three pedals:

Balparda, I have a question for you on the comfort level of using the pedals on your new Clavinova. Can you use the pedals with ease?

I'm asking because I recently bought a Clavinova and did not focus on the pedals at all. I believe I tried them out on the CLP 150/170 -- I ended up buying a CLP 990 because of a special discount. I'm happy with it except for the foot pedals are much too awkard for me. I'm using a few books to prop my foot but am disapointed to have spent so much money when the foot pedals are so high and stiff. Just wondering if you are happy with the CLP 130 foot pedals or if anyone else has experienced this problem?

Hi nan... I thought I'd chime in, since I bought a CLP 130 about six months ago. I've been very happy with the instrument, including the pedals. The height of the pedals is the same as on my instructor's acoustic, and the action is smooth. I only wish I would have paid the low price that Balparda did!

I'm pretty happy with everything about my new instrument, including the pedals. I've had no problems at all with them. They're easy to use, and the action is like the one I've seen in most acoustics.
