How long is your reperoire and how hard are the pieces?

The reason why im asking this is, that i have no idea if i spent too much time on old stuff (30 minites daily from 150 minutes of practice)

My repertoire is around 35 minutes long. My repertoire is intermediate (Grade 4 - Grade 6) Should i drop some pieces and spend more time on new pieces?

Oh, is it easier to keep in shape more shorter pieces or few longer (on same level)

Mmmm ... just re-started 9 months ago, so my repertoire isn't that long. Grade level is advanced - see pieces I'm working on below. Also will begin working on Chopin's "ocean" etude soon.

The "Ocean" Etude, if I remember correctly, is Opus 25, no. 12. In the spring I'll start working on Beethoven's Pathetique sonata. I will likely have close to an hour of repertoire soon.

You can't play your entire repertoire every day as you accumulate pieces. Would take way too long. I would just polish a finished piece for a couple of weeks if you're going perform in public soon.

My repertoire is about an hour long and has a little over 20 pieces. I play at least half of it every day. As I learn new (harder) pieces I add them and delete older (easier) ones. There are a few low graded pieces I keep for specific reasons, such as the Bach Musette in D because it's good practice for jumps, but most of it is in the grade 3-5 range. I've been playing for 2 years, 4 months.

Maintaining a rep is very time consuming, but it's an important part of why I play. I can't improvise, and my sight reading is poor, so the only way for me to play at all well is to do it from a practiced repertoire.

Interesting.

May I ask how well can you play pieces?
Do you have to practice them or can you just sit and play?

Most days I can just play my rep pieces without a lot of practice or warm up. I usually make a few mistakes on the harder ones, but some days I surprise myself and play 3 or 4 songs in a row with no major flubs. Then again, other days I seem to mangle everything.

Besides playing them all at least every second day, I usually pick 1 or 2 for intensive practice as well. I find a piece needs to be on my list for at least 6 months before I can play it reliably. Hopefully that will get shorter over time.

Here are my current lists. (I play one list each day):

List 1
------
Bach - Little Prelude in C
Bach - Minuet in G
Clementi - Sonatina in C
Lennon - Imagine
Beethoven - Sonatina in G
Bach - Musette in D
Senneville/Toussaint - Mariage d' Amour
Jagger/Richards - Angie
Lichner - Gypsy Dance
Schubert/List - Serenade
Einaudi - Le Onde

List 2
------
Bach - Invention #8
Mozart - Sonata in C
Beethoven - Fur Elise
Senneville/Toussaint - Nostalgy
Senneville/Toussaint - Souvenir D'Enfant
Pachebel - Cannon in D
Tschaikowsky - Italian Song
Brahams - Hungarian Dance
Yradier - La Paloma
Tierson - Comptine
McCartney - Yesterday
Overstreet - When You Say Nothing at All

Plus I'm working on Invention #1 and Maple Leaf Rag, like my sig line says. I haven't decided yet what I'll drop when I add those two.
