I have a few Christmas books that have duets in them. Basically the duet part only has Base Clef with low and high note. In general, the duet pasts seem more complicated than the regular notes that my daughter has to play.

How do I suppose to play my duet part, with left hand only, or with both hands based on Base Clef notes, and my daughter has to play 1 octave higher?

usually you play the secondo part with both hands, and the primo part is an octave higher. (usually the music specifies)

If you want some music with equal parts for both players, I'd recommend "Piano for Two" from FJH Music Company. There are at least four of them, beginning with early elementary.

I like these books because I don't always have to have a harder part!

Have fun!
