Congratulations on your win over me in March. You beat me by exactly 100 minutes. I had yesterday off because we had new windows installed, and I figured I would get hours of practice time in while the contracters were installing the windows. Little did I realize that there would be sawdust, wood chips, tools, and all kinds of carp all over the place, insomuch (don't you love that word) that I could not find a clean, secluded place to move my keyboard to so I could play.

By the time evening came, and all was done and the house was cleaned and put back together, I was dead tired. I figured I would shower and get woken up, but no good. I forced myself to the bench and poked out a paltry 15 minutes when I realized I could go no further. I crawled into bed ashamed, knowing that this meant a sure win for you.

If my wife only knew that my last thoughts before drifting off to sleep were of another woman... \:\)

Ha! Mr. SAS has been wondering who this Jerry guy is that I keep muttering about when I'm practicing!

Seriously, you are very gracious, thanks for the congrats! Sounds like you had circumstances beyond your control, I know how that goes.

I think if we had another challenge you'd probably win, that was the most I've ever practiced in my life! I can't take another month like that, at least not for awhile. I look forward to our rematch!

And I agree, cool avatar!

Jerry, care to tell us the story behind the new avatar?

I guess this would be a good time for me to give Doug his due.

Doug, you whipped me by over 200 minutes. Good going!

You know why, don't you?

I'm polishing Chopin Prelude in Em. It takes me maybe 2 minutes to play it through completely. That's just way too short! I'd have to play it like 100 times to catch you! ;\)

Curses. Foiled again!

Cindy -- pleased she managed to hang on and stay in the top 20, but it was touch and go for a few days there

I'm an avid flight simulator enthusiast (Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004), and last year I had the chance to fly an actual plane (an acquaintance of mine owns a Piper Cherokee 180). He let me take off and fly all around the coastline and he took over only for the approach and landing. The photo was taken after we landed. I moved from the right seat into the left seat for the photo. \:\)

Jerry, have you considered getting your pilot's license?

I'd love to do that someday. . . .

For next month, can we perhaps have an avatar that flashes a bit more skin? \:D

Jerry, aren't you an Air Force guy? Doesn't that qualify you to approach and land?

I just don't have the kind of time required to get my private license. That's why I content myself flying on the computer. Maybe after the kids are grown and I have purchased a baby grand.

I was in the Air Force, but I did not fly. I loaded cargo planes for 4 years, and was a Technical Training instructor for 5 years.

I'll see what I can do about showing more skin in my May avatar, Cindy. However, living on the Oregon coast, my skin is exceedingly white. That's why I have sunglasses on in every photo. \:\)

Hmmmm....I'll have to come up with an avatar that is family-friendly, yet slightly daring... I'm open to suggestions from the AB Babes.

How about a picture of you on a Harley?

With shades, of course.

I do have a shot of me on a Harley Road King Classic taken last summer, but I'm not wearing shades. As a matter of fact, it was taken at night.
