I see Playadom here is less successful here than in his no.10 .. he looks as if he started practicing at the night of the recital :p
The slow tempo of the first half is somewhat compensated by the acceleration at 0:51.

More later

Actually I found the raw energy of your nr 10 rather exciting. I loved it when you gamely turned the page and galloped on. That showed the panache of Liszt.

Slow down and do it right.

Yes, I liked playadom's #12 as well, recording quality notwithstanding. That is a tough, tough piece, probably #2 or #3 on the difficulty ranking (#16 is universally considered the toughest). Kudos to him for tackling this monster fearlessly and head-on.

Haha, that wasn't actually a page turning. It really sounds like it though. Some mail fell off of the piano, that's all.

I might submit a more complete version of #12 in one of the upcoming recitals.

Is it a coincidence that 'Jazzyprof' played this particular prelude. Is Chopin the composer?? Jazzy prof plays the piece with a weird infectious sense of ragtime that he sheds new light on the piece I used to here. This prelude is now one of my favorites.
Ragtime? Gee, I thought I was going for the reggae beat. laugh

Three months only .. not even in a lifetime dear playadom .. laugh

I know the fact. And it is a great accomplishment given the time. But your no.10 was a huge hit to the degree that it foreshadowed your no.12.

besides, I love teasing you :p so why not tease me with a 'similar' "unbiased" review of my prelude wink

Cheers

Well, let's start off with the fact that your piano is quite out of tune. Although I can't say much in that department... laugh

I'd be following along with the score if those UE nazis didn't kill the IMSLP.

Seriously though, it's a nice little piece, and it's quite refreshing to listen to.

I hope this thread was not intended for participants only in the recital because I wish to praise each of you for a wonderful listening experience.

Greg, (gerg), you have a beautiful web site to showcase your artists and your participating artists did a magnificent job of showcasing Chopin's Preludes.

Bravo to all!

I am so very proud of every performer for making this happen! Each of us has raised the bar, so to speak, on our own abilities and perception of what we can accomplish given hard work and self-confidence. Hopefully others have been inspired as well, and are invited without exclusion to participate in future challenges.

Thank you everyone for the recital. I never took the time before this to listen to all of the preludes and so now I want to learn one or two of them (maybe more, depending on my life span) so my teacher and I decided that I'm going to work on #1.

Truly an inspiration.

Bassio,

Why'd you stop at No.16? I wanted to hear your "unbiased" review of mine! smile
