Man, I'm bummed out. frown

My teacher just called me and told me he can't teach me for a while. Apparently, he has 45 performances setup and can't handle all his students. So, he recommended another teacher that is 20 minutes farther away. I'm not sure what to do now. frown

I just hope I didn't drive him away with my crappy playing. laugh

Aw . . .

I'm so sorry!

Can't he come up with more names than that?

It might be best to start from scratch on a teacher search . . .

sorry to hear that. maybe you could do some self-teaching too while looking for other teachers. it's better to check out your next teacher before signing up with him/her.

Well,

I called the recommended teacher. She only teaches classical style. frown I was hoping for all genres (pop, rock, jazz, blues, etc) like my last teacher.

Anyway, I'm giving a month to try it out.

Keeping my fingers crossed this works out.

There oughta be a law, Cindy? If the shoe were on my foot I might even consider killing myself! frown I hope this helps some wink

Seriously, it would be interesting to hear a few more details. His reasons may be legitimate and he may be and most likely is bummed himself that he had to make the call. In any event, I do sympathize with your situation but remember, what may seem as a set-back now may present a better opportunity for you in the near future, I strongly expect this will be the case.

I am just wondering ... why some people like to associate themselves with devils ???

An apple a day keep the doctor away,
A smile a day chase your sadness away,
A chat a day drive all loneliness away,
And a prayer a day never keep our Jesus away
And let's praise our Lord, our King, our God all the way ....

Who in turn, I believe, were named after that mythical elusive "Jersey Devil" a Bigfoot, Abominable Snowman creature of the South Jersey Pines.

I was afraid you meant Blue Devils, as in Duke.

I have dibs on being Markb's manager. I take 10% off the top; more when he's not paying attention.

We've got to do something about that stage name, though. "marcb." It has a certain understated simplicity about it, granted. But it needs some umph, you know.

Mark Moyd, perhaps?

:blushing: First of all, I'm flattered--no one's ever offered to exploit me for money! Therefore, Cindy, take 20%! Heck, I'm feeling generous today--make it 30%!

Secondly, it's not "marcb", it's "markb". And the "k" is silent.

I belive the name "Mark Moyd" should first be offered to markjpcs for all of his hard work on the MOYD database.

HEY! WAIT A MINUTE!! I thought *I* was the one who was going to be the star, and markb was acting as my manager. Remember, he was going to sell tickets to my one-man show! :b:

I feel slighted. I've been stabbed in the back by my fans and manager alike. :b:

I'm out of show business. From now on, I'll only do one-on-one private requests for shows. wink

It's very simple, Jerry. I manage you and Cindy manages me. Are you afraid of a little bureaucracy? If so, don't worry about it--that's what we who live in/near D.C. specialize in. (I couldn't figure out how not to end that sentence with a prepsosition.) And as for your private request shows--I get a cut of the take since I made you the big shot you are today. Otherwise, I'll see to it that you never work in this town again!

Devils4ever, I apologize for hijacking your thread. Please keep us posted in your Teacherquest.
