Hi W Scott

Go to your main page and click on where it says upload files you should then get a pop up menu, next click on the folder drop down list and select the music file and then click on upload.

You can then search your hard drive for the file you want to upload.

When the file is uploaded right click on the file and choose public share you will then be given a "url" which you can copy and paste here for us all to listen to the file.

Let me know if that makes any sense?

That's hilarious :p That's alrighty, get rocky or Euan upgraded. I'd rather have someone who CAN play have more room for their songs than someone like myself :p

Just on a side note:

When logged into box.net, you can click on the "Sharing" tab in the upper right, and see how many times people have view your files.

Monica, thanks for the tip on this thread, I had missed it.

Ok, not one to avoid bandwagons, I signed up, so add me to the list of people who are inviting others in the hopes of getting more storage space:

I have to say, box.net certainly does seem very easy and straighforward!

Now I have to go and record something so I can make use of this new tool. smile

Hmm. I'm not having success uploading a file, and there doesn't seem to be a FAQ or something similar. Basically, I get to the "initializing upload" window and then never progress, it looks like it's uploading, but then it never finishes and says "upload in progress" at the top of the window. How long shouild it take to upload a file that's, say 1 or 2mb?

{edited to add} I went back a little later and got it uploaded, so who knows what the trouble was. Thanks!

I've had a few occasions, Shiro, where box.net was goofy on me too. I just refreshed the page and it seemed fine. I have noticed that it seems to work better (for me atleast) in Firefox, only because I think Firefox is more ajax friendly.

ShiroKuro, I used your post to link to box.net so I guess you get to count me towards an upgrade.

If I jumped the queue, which I think I did, I apologize to rocky or eaun...oops!

You don't need any referals to sign up. Just go create an account, it is very fast.

When I go to the signup page, I get the message: Registration is now closed off. Perhaps it's not available outside the US?

It still says "Registration is now closed off" for me, whether I use Firefox or Explorer. frown I'm in the Philippines (Asia).
