What will you continue to work on after you complete the last book in your series? If popular stuff, what material in particular? Or will you go for Classical? Or Jazz?

Also, after that last book,do you plan to play in public, and if so, in what kind of venue?

thanks!

You keep making me think, Ang....

Hmmm. After I've finished Alfreds and Humphries book, I guess I don't know yet.

There are some great pieces I have heard here (and elsewhere) that I might tackle. Some Bach for sure, and Chopin.

And, then, a mix of all the stuff I love, from pop to oldies to "the classics", etc.

And, finally, no, I have no desire to ever play in public. This journey is for me. Never say never, but I don't see public playing as something I want to do. It was not a goal.

Stop making me think, my brain hurts....

Finished with my Alfred books??? That's a long way off yet. If I indeed make it that far, I'm sure that I won't have any trouble finding music that I would like to learn - some classical, some hymns, some Broadway....

As for playing in public, no way! Right now I play only for me, but as I progress and improve, I would hope that my family would enjoy hearing me play also. I have no wishes to go beyond that.

The end of Alfred's is a long way off for me as well. At the end, whenever I might get there, I'd like to be playing current radio music, some old popular stuff, some standards, and even a couple of classical tunes.

Playing for others... well, I guess eventually I'd like to go somewhere and say "oh look! A piano!" and bang out a couple of fun tunes. But I don't have the inclination, nor am I fooling myself into thinking that I have the talent (or the time) to play anywhere near professionally.
