Someone sent me an email this morning that, strangely enough, translated to me into how we might view things in the relationship between adult student and teacher. It read like this:

Success Depends On Using Not Opposing.

“The world is primarily constituted on the basis of harmony.
Everything works in cooperation with something else.
Personal relationships are the fertile soil from which all advancement, all success, all
achievement in real life grows.

Put yourself in another's place.
Only then will you know why they think and do certain things.
Once you understand how quickly people will grant your requests when those requests appeal to their self interest, you can have practically anything you go after.

It's through cooperation not conflict, that you'll achieve your greatest success.”

I found these words to be encouraging.

Betty,

There, you have it, something upon which we can agree.

These thoughts are beautiful and appeal to my self interest in that it tears me up inside to leave a disagreement go unresolved.

Please let your quote serve to resolve our difference. I've been thinking about how best to clear it. Thank you for posting this wonderful insight that works for me and, I hope, for you. smile

Sincerely,

Lisztener

To clarify. My previous post had to do with the quoted thought taken in its own context without a teacher or student (leader or follower) in mind to clutter the underlying insight.

“The world is primarily constituted on the basis of harmony.
