I was in your shoes 6 months ago - not having touched the piano for 20 years.
I picked up some of my daughter's beginner books, played through them at one sitting, then bought an "adult" beginner's book, then 2 more music books, then a Beatles "Easy Piano book, then started studying with a teacher.
So as the Nike (?) commercial says - "Just do it!"

Find an instructor and see how much comes back to you. You are so far ahead of so many of us who had no, or very little, music experience to help us. But most important have fun. "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." Jon

The best way is to study with a teacher again. I returned to the same teacher after a 17-year break and within 6 months had surpassed my former level (ATCL). Sometimes our technique has deteriorated so much over the years that we might not know what is wrong and how to correct our problems; this is where a teacher is invaluable. It is more effective to study with a good teacher than figuring things out on your own; our time is too precious in modern society to waste on mistakes that can easily be circumvented by having a teacher. Having lessons also tend to force you to be more disciplined in your practice.

thanks all for your advice... I think firstly I should start practising a little scales, just to warm up my creaking fingers.. haha.. Then find a instructor or teacher to guide me along "the road to recovery".. Cheers

My advise is DON"T! You'll throw your back out. Hire a piano mover instead.
