I don't know if it was mentioned on this forum before, but if you go on YouTube, and search for "piano", or a particular song, or music piece, chances are you'll find a video of someone else playing it. It will give you some ideas for new pieces to learn, or at least some inspiration to get better.
Here's the link:

No offense, but this reminded me of another post in another forum. I think, it was forums.avault.com.. This guy opened a thread, and started introducing a really great web site. And then at the end of the message, there was the URL of the web site.. The website was:

It was about two years ago.

Sure YouTube is picking up - but I'm positive there's got to be at least a person or two, that didn't know that on this forum...

I agree, I'm sure there are lots of folks who don't know there are those type of videos on YouTube.

Thanks, I only learned about Youtube.com this month when someone on this forum linked their video for feedback. \:\)

Yeah, I only learned about YouTube recently as well, and I didn't realize you could actually type in search terms until even more recently.

People post all kinds of videos, so you could type in either the name of a song/piece or even try the name of a pianist.

Be carefull!

Orginally posted by Kreisler:

Hello everyone,

I've received complaints about users posting links to videos available on You Tube and other file hosting services.

I would like to remind everyone that MANY (if not most) of the videos on You Tube (including Chopin videos by Lisitsa, Kempff, Pogorelich, Cziffra, Ferrati, and Zimmerman) are illegally presented.

If you are interested in watching pianists perform, I would encourage all of you to actually purchase the video and audio recordings often linked here.

It is impossible for the moderators of this site to review each topic and link posted for legal legitimacy.

Most recordings and DVDs cost about as much as a large pizza and six pack of beer. Keep in mind that everytime you download Cziffra's artistic product for free, be aware that you are sending a pretty strong message about yourself that says "Pizza is more valuable to me than Cziffra."

That being said, please DO post amateur recordings and videos. I love seeing people sharing their own work. Sharing other artists' work, however, is dishonest and cheap. B]

I am actually having trouble for the most part figuring out what video or dvd the performances are actually from. I ordered 3 DVD's yesterday, hopefully, they are from the video's I have seen. Other stuff is either out of print or only availible in PAL format \:\(

It just means pizza is not available for free.

It could be. All folks need to do is get over their qualms about stealing it.

When it comes to online content, "qualm thresholds" for a lot of people seem to be just a little lower than in real life.

Slightly off the subject. I think Valentina Lisitsa is doing smart marketing by putting many video clips (many are full pieces) for free to download on her website. One could preview before making purchase decision. I bought a few of her DVD after viewing her free video. She even autographs the DVD box for you when you purchase from her website.
