This may sound odd but has anyone named their piano. Mine's Sir Henry the brave Yamaha. Anyone else name theirs???

I'm still trying names on for size. I think my piano's a man, because it's big and brawny.

Since I'm a Star Trek fan, my husband has suggested James T. (That's Captain Kirk's first name and initial, for the non-initiated.) I think I like it.

I was also considering Tiberius, which is what the T stands for. And it has that bold Roman emperor quality about it. But I think I'm leaning toward the casual insouciance of James T.

"Yama" is Japanese for "mountain." And musical progress really IS like climbing a mountain, isn't it? thumb

I started off thinking I would name my piano Mary Elizabeth, after my mother. (It was her inheritance that enabled me to buy the piano.) But after I got the piano home, I soon became aware that it was definitely male. Then somebody here in the forum referred to my piano as the Pied Piper of Hamlin, and it was one of those "a-ha!" moments, because I realized at that moment that Piper was in fact my piano's true name.

I've named my piano "Yogurt" the Yamaha Clavinova. I've also named my car "Henry" the Honda. My girlfriend got me into naming everything. Our fridge has a name, too. Frederic.

Never thought about naming really, interesting thought though
