Scarlatti not only wrote over 500 sonatas, but he also owned several bevel-drive Ducati motorcycles.

I heard Scarlotti was a pretty good airplane pilot. Is that possible?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Scarlatti was a married gay vegetarian far-right evangelical Christian who loved Liszt, and admired Lang-Lang's musicality.

(Let's see if that works... laugh )

Actually, a piece of scarlatti dipped in milk or hot chocolate makes a yummy treat.

On a more serious note - I'm actually not sure I've ever played any Scarlatti. Would I recognize it if I heard it?

Do you think it's on the juke box at the local biker bar?

wink Jodi

in english..scar alot
in french...scare beaucoup
in spanish...muchos scarros
in japanese...scaronaya saki

I don't think I've ever heard Scarlatti, but I know that I had to read The Scarlatti Letter in high school.

I'm sorry. I'll stop now.

Another tidbit about young Scarlatti: before deciding to become a composer like his father, he traveled with a group of performing acrobats - gymnasts and tumblers mostly. But do you know what his specialty in this performance realm was?
