Hi All,
I have seen messages on here before asking about computer software to help you learn the piano. I found a game online that is helping me. It is called Synthesia. You can get it at
http://www.synthesiagame.com/ It is free software. It has a on screen keyboard, or you can go thru midi with your midi keyboard. You just use regular .mid files with it. I beleive the next version will add music notation to it, but for that part of it to work, you will need to buy a key for 15 dollars. Not bad for software this good. There is a demo of it on YouTube. Here is the URL to see the demo

It is kind of expensive, 149.00 , but it is great software for anyone learning music. You can write regular notes or big notes with the letters in the noteheads with it. It plays the music back to you. Nice for learning timing too.
I am kind of a beginner, and I tried something today that worked great. I used Notation Composer to enter the B flat scale, and a couple of chords, B flat, E flat, and F then save the file as a midi file.
Loaded it in the Synthesia game, and had my own custom made game fingering the scale and chords in it.
NOTE: Notation Composer also has a teaching mode built into it. You can have it play 1 or 2 bars over and over as you practice them. The URL for it is at
