Okay, you know the drill, ANYTHING goes here!, have some fun and post up anything you want.

Here's a quickie from me as I was playing around with the digital multi-track feature. It's certainly not perfect, but who cares! this place is for FUN!

This may bring back some memories of PROM night back in the day!!

Ooops, clicked.... to late to turn back.... gotta post.

Pretty nice stuff. It sounded very full with the digital multi-track feature.... it's like a whole band. Neat. You're playing was nice and clean.

Good job, Mr. S-H.

This is slower than I believe this is traditionally supposed to be done but its the best I can do.

It's also not quite as entertaining as the rest of the music on this thread. Bach Inventions are much more fun to play than to listen to.

Frank

Oh yeah, this was recorded on my digital. I recently got an acoustic but I need to first get it tuned up and then get a microphone and I hope to get something recorded from the new piano.

That digital sounds very clean and crisp, too.

Hi Frank, I don't think your version is too slow! It sounds great to me.

I was listening to a recording by Glenn Gould (http://www.collectionscanada.ca/4/23/m23-700-e.html, Tape 7535, at about 3:24) and his tempo is actually slower. (You can also hear him singing along!) It's interesting that there are so many interpretations of Baroque music, and it sounds good at all kinds of tempos.

Hi Hunkster and the gang \:\)

Inspired by some of the recent recordings I have heard with strings and piano combined (which I always think sound nice and relaxing)

I decided to record a ballad with piano and strings for everyone last night. I just love the sound of this \:\)

So stepping up to the piano once again

Here's:-

"My Heart Will Go On" - stringy pianomagic style

Hi Hunkster \:\)

I Liked the freebird tune and loved the digital multi track (which sounded like a flute? very nice \:D )

And the sea and the birds at the end...rather artistic.

Wonderful ...More!

Lee, I finally was able to download from savefile again. Most excellent job!!! I have an easy version of sheet music for this song and play it occassionally, of course, your version sounds MUCH better. Very easy on the ears!

super-hunky, I swear you and your songs are making me relive my college days!! Especially the night I had a mite too much to drink and set my record player to play Freebird over and over again while I was passed out, er, asleep. I bet my roommates just loved me.

Lee, I'm just not having luck with savefile these past two days so haven't been able to listen to your song. But I'll keep trying, as "Titanic" is one of my all time favorite movies that I've watched a dozen times and STILL bawl my eyes out every time I see it.

p.s. I'm not ignoring Frank. I talked about his piece on the other thread. VERY nice!

Seaside Lee:

I finally[/b] was able to download your song. It took forever to do for some reason, but BOY oh Boy was it worth it!!!

What an absolutely fantastic job

Lee, I think that this is by far your best song yet!! it sounded very proffesional.

I did'nt know you had a digital to add the strings in; they sounded very nice and not overpowering or cheesy as they sometimes can.
(Listen to my Freebird song, you will hear overpowering and cheesy strings!! I got to work on that!)

Anyway Lee, this was really great, and did you play the whole song by ear?? if so very very impressive.

I've still got to try and download Fat Franks piece and also Mike Whites from a couple of days ago. Am I the only one having SUPER-SLOW download times?? Lee's song took about 10 minutes to download!

(Trust me, it was well worth it)

Great job Lee, but now I hate you again!! ;\)

Lee, I also finally got your song to download. I don't know if it's your best, but it definitely is my favorite of yours so far, just because of my fondness for it. The strings really are a nice touch.

I am definitely jealous, but I didn't mean that comment to sound like the back-hand compliment that it evidently did... if I were expanding on my statement, I would say something like "I don't know if it's your best from a technical skills viewpoint (you've played some extremely impressive stuff for us), but it's my FAVORITE because Leo DiCaprio is a hunk etc..."

Hi Mr s-h and Monica

So glad you managed to download the file (and thankfully it was worth it \:\) )..I am fast going off savefile...grrr!

 Quote:

Yes I have a Yamaha CLP170 and that was played with Grand Piano 1 and "soft strings". I like the soft strings they kind of compliment rather than overpower everything...I often play with that voicing when I am playing for myself...I wasn't sure if anyone would like it with the strings...but seeing as it is my best yet? (wow thankyou \:D ) I may record some more like that.

Yes, by ear...the middle might be a little sketchy as I forgot how it went...but, I think I covered it up okay ;\)

regards

Lee

BTW I have reviewed your freebird and like it a lot...was that strings? I thought it sounded like a flute and I thought that effect sounded great! ;\)

Monica I think the hunkster was teasing you ;\)

It takes a while to fully understand his humour

I didn't take it as a back-handed compliment at all...I am just happy after all the effort to download it! you liked it \:\)

I'll throw my song into the mix as well. Prelude in B minor by Chopin (not to be confused with the prelude in E minor which I uploaded last time!).

Tomas, beautiful job on that Chopin piece! It's much more melodic than I am used to hearing in classical music. And not a little sad. Very nice.

Lee, I just recently figured out how to do multitrack recording and it's a lot of fun.

The only problem is that I have over 1000 different sounds and instruments to choose from. Some sound good, some don't.

My "strings" that I used were not the soft ones, and as a result, they kind of overpower the piano part. I will have to just play around with it and try some others.

You may have lucked out with the ones you chose as they really sounded very nice and subtle in the background. I would keep using that particular set.

I find that not only different versions of "strings" sound nice, but also a few "flute" settings and even french horn. Give 'em all a try.

I'm just playing regular "piano" but in the "guitar" mode....pretty kewl huh!!

Tomas:

I was finally able to download your song. This time, for some reason, it downloaded very quickly!!

Anyway, I'm not really sure what we are going to do with you. You are not playing "beginner" level music, you are playing some level of advanced beginer to maybe even intermediate music but you actually ARE a "beginner" (only 2-mos right?)

Your song was played very very well. Timing, volume, everything was spot on. You must be some kind of piano freak or something as between your recital song and this one, I have never heard such talent level out of such a short time at playing.

Even if you "obsess" with one particular song as you have said you do, you are definitely putting out "quality" as opposed to "quantity".

This is the correct way to do it; I wish I had that level of patience to do it.

Keep it up and keep on posting!

Okay, that did it! I have GOT to get me one of these digital pianos. That was way too cool beyond words. If you had not told me that was your piano, I would've sworn[/b] it was guitar. I mean, I heard strumming!

Or are you pulling our legs and have a secret double life as a guitarist?

That's about how fast I play it. You play it a lot faster than Glenn Gould, and I'm sure many others, too. The neat thing about Bach inventions is that they can really be played at any tempo (within reason) and still sound good. They're some of my favorite pieces to play AND to listen to. ;\)

Good job!
