Oh oh, and another thing: The Motif has those "assignable output" ports on the back, if the whole L & R thing doesn't work, could you assign the output to those and plug it into your computer?

Hi Weezard Correct me if I'm wrong but would I need a cable which was 1/4" jack on one end and phono the other? Lets just not go there with the assignable thing because I am about to experience brain overload already regards Lee

Yeah, I think so Lee. Something like this maybe?: AV to RCA Cable Or.. If you have one of these: (The Blue One) Line-In Picture You can get a cable that has the 1/4" on both ends, get a converter (1/4" to the small size) and plug it into your computer.

Hmmmm, in trying to follow the instructions I wondered why you are not using a simple recording tool (like "total recorder") to directly record your midi playing to a mp3 file ?

Hi Gforce007 Sorry about that, savefile deletes files that haven't been downloaded for 30 days and seeing as Sharon has bumped an old thread (which can often open up a can of worms in itself...yikes! ) the file you have tried to download has just been deleted Anyway, I have now posted the file to my boxnet account for you to hear... Theme From Titanic (with Strings) regards Lee

Hi pian00b Wow, Seaside Lee i dont believe that you havent a good ear It wasn't always like this let me tell ya ...2 and a half years ago, I was sooo bad it was pitiful (even twinkle, twinkle was a bridge too far!!) But, with Mikes help I have mostly cured my melody problems (AKA as "Seaside_Lee Affliction") and now my ear I am glad to say is very good Now, if I can just get my rhythm problems (AKA "Seaside_Lee Affliction 2") sorted out...I'll be one happy camper That recording was made a few months ago before I bought my new "Yamaha Motif Rack ES" and those strings are the "slow string" setting on my Yamaha CLP170...I prefer the strings that way,(gentle and in the background)...however, I can appreciate that it is not to everyones taste some of the other string settings IMHO are just like "too in yer face!!!" However, I may record something else (someday soon) with piano and strings but, through my rack instead because, that has some fabulous string sounds. regards Lee
