Well, it's time once again to renew my subscription, and that got me thinking about how much I used to enjoy the forums. Lately, they have become a little less enjoyable, so I've decided to take a break for a while. I will be back in a few months or so, I think.
It seems like people just disappear every now and then, and I did not want to leave without saying so long.
I've made a lot of what I consider friends, and I do believe I will miss all of you, but it is time to move on.
Good luck and good playing to all....

Well, I don't get the fish reference, so either I'm dense or it's something from before my time (or both). In any case, I've enjoyed your postings, so I hope you suffer PW withdrawal and come back soon. Best of luck -- and please note: This doesn't excuse you from MYOD!

The reference is to the title of the fourth book in Douglas Adams trilogy The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (British science fiction, very funny, and part of the joke is a trilogy consisting of four parts). If I recall correctly, shortly before the Earth is destroyed the dolphins are rescued en masse, their farewell to humanity is 'so long and thanks for all the fish'. But I may be misremembering.

gmm1--I have enjoyed your posts, and I have also used some of the techniques you've said work for you. It's always helpful to hear so many experiences.
Enjoy your piano, and come back soon.
Nancy

Well, if you're really going away for good the very least you could do is tell us what gmm stands for - we've been wondering . . . Good luck (but see you when you get back ) Some people sure have a funny way of saying that the rest of us have become, a, er, how shall I say this, uninspiring or unstimulating or unmotivating or uninformative (or all of the above) lately :p Regards, JF

I'm sorry you are leaving. I think we all go through phases like that and sometimes need a break. I hope you will check in from time to time and keep us updated on your experiences in the outside world-LOL I really enjoy all the members here so it will be sad to see you go. Best to you, Kymber

gmm1,
I encourage your return as soon as you are finished with your snow shoveling for the year - I can see where that has kept you busy and on overload this winter. Washington State has had some intense storms, winds, rain, snow, ice, floods for a much longer period than usual this year. I am counting the days until the first crocus or hyacinth and onward to daffodils and tulips.
I look forward to your return! You kind of light up and lighten up the forums here! I always read your postings and will miss your presence. Did you know that?
Betty

gmm1,
Although the forums will never be quite the same without you, it's refreshing to hear you say that you are leaving. Those who interacted with you on a regular basis will miss you as an irreplaceable friend. Those like me who've not had the chance or inclination to know you better, will miss you because of you leaving our community. If...or when...I decide to move on from here, I believe I'll announce it as you are now doing. It's a nice gesture on your behalf. Perhaps I'll get to know you better should you return and wish for the same concerning me.
I wish you health and happiness,
Lisztener

Lisztener, that was worthy of an Emmy!. gmm1, [unless you have already split,] if your still reading these comments, I'm just curious, why are you leaving?. Is it the recent turnover?, lack of interest?, don't like the piano as much anymore?.

I think it has something to do with "nosey" questions from fellow members. :p
Sorry, couldn't resist.
gmm1, you will be missed. Your contributions to the forum have been interesting and entertaining. Best wishes to you as you move on to "greener pastures."

[/b] gmm1; I am the one that you told about a beautiful song written by David Nevue called The Old Country Church. Found a link to a sample of it on google. http://www.last.fm/music/David+Nevue/_/The+Old+Country+Church Listen to it again and you will get your Piano interest back. I asked David about sheet music to the song, and he said he will have it done in about 3 months. When you come back, join us in a forum called Pop Piano Pro and Adult Piano Adventures. Everyone seems to be having a good time on that forum. By the way, I am Dale. I messaged you a few times over at www.thepianobyear.com forums. Dale

Bon voyage, gmm1! Travel safely, and if you've a mind to, check in once in awhile and tell us about the new scenery!

gmm1, I have been away for a few days, myself...... Thus I apologize for not bidding you a fond fair well sooner. This forum will be less positive without your upbeat and encouraging input.
