Any ideas about an easy, satsifying piece of Bach? I would like to take on my first piece - which is goong to be painfully slow (so something slow would be good) I was thinking of the Bach Gounod thing, but I cant spell Gouned.) are there any more please, I can check out?
Any PDF sites for Bach
Thanks all - I am really enjoying the forum

One of the first piece i learned after 3 months was the Prelude 1 in C from the WTC. Require arpeggio's knowledge and I'ts easy and nice and famous... Using the search engine you may find sites that offers the pdf for free. Ie: http://gardenofpraise.com/key21bi.htm Stefano

I prefer Bach's Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring. But it's just my preference. Candi

I'm just starting to play, like you, and I first learned a very easy arrangement of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". You can see me playing it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZMmi4kLAfo I went on with the Menuet BWV Ahn. 114, from the Ana Magdalena Bach album, but it is really harder! I haven't recorded it yet, but here is good video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxe5zC1-cWM I'm now involved with the "Prelude in C" from the Well Tempered Clavier. You can see a performance of this piece (also not mine) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRBV1WMJtI4

Here's a list that gives a lot of classical pieces sorted by difficulty. http://www.pianoworld.com/Uploads/files/Graded_Pieces_All.pdf There are a couple of Bach pieces listed at level 1 and quite a few at level 2. Hope this helps you find some music to work on. Rich

You can download free PDFs of all of Bach's music here: http://www.greatjsbach.net/Work.php3 and here: http://olyama.livejournal.com/2663.html These are all public domain. Mel

I just taught my kids Minuet in G and they really liked it. I picked it because it had a nice up tempo bounce and it has nice patterns that were very benificial in improving their overall finger dexterity. It was like getting them to do exercises without telling them they were doing exercises.... :-) Don't tell them though. Here is a site that has some good stuff at different levels. http://www.gmajormusictheory.org/Freebies/freebies.html

I like Jesu, but even easier and shorter is the Small Prelude in C Major, which I found on Pianostreet.com. I'd never heard it before, as I'm not a huge Bach fan, but it's quite pretty.
