Thank you. I've always felt that the most important element in any good song is the melody. That's the part people remember right? It's the part that sticks in your head hours after you've heard a tune.

So getting more and more technical doesn't mean it's a better song. Sometimes the simplest songs are the best songs.

To be honest, I don't consider myself an especially advanced pianist. I'm just a good songwriter. I write tunes that I like, and then arrange them in ways that I find interesting.

So it's not always about complexity, it's about simplicity, and whether the "tune" stays with you after you've heard the song.

I think it's great that piano players who aren't all that advanced can play my music without too much trouble. I find that very satisfying, because when a person can play a song they love it encourages them to keep playing and practicing.

Piano music should be fun.

Yea, it's been a LONG time, hasn't it. I started online in 1995. It's interesting to see how my Internet marketing business model has changed over the years. I've had to do it to survive.

I'm glad to see you're still going strong with PianoWorld. And it was really cool to stumble across this thread in the forum. I guess it means you're doing something right, in terms of marketing, when people are talking about you!

David, I'm new here, but I took the time to listen to your music and it's really, really nice. I'll try to play some in the near future for sure.

You're right! Some of the most simple music can sound so beautiful when it's played with emotion.

Thank you. It depends on the album, but MOST of my CDs are recorded on a Yamaha 7' grand. Actually, the only ones that aren't are "The Vigil" and "The Last Waking Moment." Those two were both recorded on a 9' Steinway.

It is wonderful to see an artist like David Nevue so personable and be personally involved with his fans/audience. It is very rare to see.

I think this captures completely why I love new age music, more so than classical music. It's hard to define "new age" (though I'd love to hear your definition, David!), but I think one of its hallmarks is strong melody. Much if not most classical music is far more demanding and complex technically than (most) new age music, but I can listen to a piece by Bach, say, and not be able to hum it 5 minutes later. I want to play the music that stays with you.
