I am close to pulling the trigger on a Kawai Ebony 52" US 6x. Year Built 1995, for 4800.00 I have shopped all the dealers in my area and fell in love with the Yamaha U3, and at first enjoyed the "brightness" of the Yamaha. But after having spent the last month with a borrowed Yamaha the sound is not very pleasureable to me. My teacher has a Kawai, and that would have been my second choice, but now Kawai has moved up to first choice. I tried a K3 and K5 at the dealer, and really liked everything about them except it seemed impossible to play softly with the new millenium action.(for me anyway). I was quoted in the ten grand range for the K5 so that is why this US 6x is so appealing. It is lightly used, picked out for the current owner by a well known pianist..etc. and she never really had time to persue playing. I cannot find much info on the net about customer satisfaction/or concerns. If you own one, would you please tell me how you feel about it? Any technicians that have input, let me have it. Thanks in advance.

Dear Bob, I have had a Kawai for over 30 years and I love as much as the first day I put my hands on the keys. Mine in a KG-2C. I would think that technicians might be more helpful but I think this vintage was a well made piano. good luck, rada www.pianopassions.com
